Guest Hosting TwitterTalk Radio
In March, 2010 the host of TwitterTalkRadio, Angie Swartz, invited me to guest host an episode of the show to interview Joe Sorge, the owner of the now-internet-famous burger joint AJ Bombers in Milwaulkee.
I met Joe after viewing a YouTube video Chris Brogan made while visiting the restaurant. On the show Joe, Angie and I discuss the AJ Bombers philosophy of running his restaurant using social media tools, as well as the tools he uses, the pitfalls he’s found and some of his winning strategies. You can listen to the entire hour-long episode in parts here:

Book Foreword: #TwitterWorks: Restaurant 2.0 Edition
In the spring of 2010 I was asked to write the foreword to a book called #Twitterworks: Restaurant 2.0 Edition that was released this May. The book is written by 3 web savvy restauranteurs who’ve used social media to build their restaurant businesses and garner themselves the attention of major news outlets like: CNN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, TechCrunch and Mashable. It was a joy to work with the authors (Joe Sorge, Phil Gerbyshak and Scott Baitinger. Here’s a quick preview of the book which is now in print.

Social Media and Blogging Workshop, Hosted by Gunn/Jerkens
In December 2009, I helped Gunn/Jerkens, a Marketing and Communications Agency based in Long Beach, California, put together a 5 hour workshop event for a room full of their key clients. We discussed a variety of ways the web and social media were changing the marketing landscape, and how these changes would affect their businesses and their marketing strategies going forward. We also provided a broad overview of proven social media strategies and low cost tools, as well as what to expect when getting started on the web. The event was a huge success and we had a ton of fun mingling and getting to know the Gunn/Jerkens crew. They’re great people to work with.
